Fluid Tile Layouts / Navgation
Hi all
We are in the process of moving to PeopleTools 8.59 and as part of that change are planning to introduce a fluid homepage with appropriate tiles.
I have two issues
Firstly, the fluid landing page will show 16 tiles - but on my laptop/desktop I can only get my screen to display 3 tiles across.
I have discovered that (using Ms-Edge) ...
- if I reduce my zoom on my screen to 90% I get 4 tiles displayed across the page
- if I reduce my zoom on my screen to 80% I get 5 tiles displayed across the page
But I would like this to be always 4 or 5 - as my users will have their screen set to 100%.
Does anyone know how I can set this?
Secondly, using the Tile Wizard I have worked out how to add tiles, which when selected take me to the relevant menu item, but how do I configure a tile to navigate to a secondary layer of tiles? Can anyone help?
Many thanks

Hi,
For the first issue, you said that you got 16 tiles but your laptop/desktop is displaying only 4 tiles. I would request you to check the "Display Resolution" and the layout percentage on your desktop/laptop.
Go to Start > Settings > System > Display. Check whether you got Display resolution set as 1920X1080 (Recommended). Also verify the Scale and Layout percentage which displays the size of text, apps etc.. Set it to 125%. You no need to reduce the zoom percentage at the browser end. You can leave it to 100% as it is. If the issue still exists, please attach a screenshot.
For the second issue, Are you looking for configuring tiles within tiles?
Thanks

Hi - Thats a new feature added in 8.59 to accommodate Notification section without hitting the bell icon in case if you have large screen.
See below. i have my laptop and extended screen.
Hp 23 inch Monitor (Large screen so it will show 3 tiles and Notification bar. Look no bell icon near to home buttin)
Laptop (Its small screen so it will accomadate 4 tiles without notification but when you squeeze the screen siz then it will go as 2 1..etc.)
So basically homepage looks for your screen size and it adjust automatically even if you have same settings in the browser.
For another question consider implementing dashboard as that is the way to go with tiles within tiles.

Tile size is determined by CSS. It is possible to override the CSS, but I don't think I would do that, as it could cause some dynamic tiles to render in an awkward manner. You can also turn off the notifications sidebar if you would like to reclaim that space. But I have to question the value of rendering all 16 on the screen all the time. Tiles have a filter feature, so you may turn off tiles that are irrelevant until they become relevant. The order of tiles should be based on expected usage. The most common top left and the least common bottom right. Now here is an idea... what if tiles were sorted according to most recently used or by most commonly used?
