OAM12, What is the difference between IAU_EVENTTYPE Authentication and Login

Concerning OAM 12.2.1.4, the table IAU_BASE includes the column IAU_EVENTTYPE that returns OAM Runtime Events. I would like to know the number of successful logins into my protected apps. I cannot understand what is the difference between Authentication and Login event types (possible values of IAU_EVENTTYPE column). The number of Logins is always larger than the number of Authentications.
