Best performance using DG4ODBC

Hi

I have a performance issue regarding to selecting data between oracle and MS Sql Server using DG4ODBC , the problem solved as a workaround solution by converting a data type for one column in SQL SERVER database before doing the my query. can I have other permanent solution to solve this performance issue? what if I install DG4MSQLSERVER instead of DG4ODBC? is there any other software solution for quick retrieve ?
