How are larger companies doing Payables check printing?

We have a custom check creation where we send check print files through Paris Printer software then to the printer. The check print files are coded with all the Paris Printer details to handle: custom cover pages, the check details, and overflow pages if necessary. The Paris Printer software handles the page/check formatting and manages printing in the correct order for folding and mailing.

Is it possible and recommended to use the PSFT delivered BI Publisher PDF file creation for large number of checks, would this be to create one PDF file that will print checks and advice overflow in one file?
