Possible options for REST API

Product: Oracle Retail Merchandising System v16.0.3

I am interested to explore options about what can be done if we need the Rest API for various new integrations leveraging any existing option that oracle offers for it?

I have heard about RMS ReST services but its very limited. Can that be extended for new endpoints?

Is creating complete custom rest api is the only option?
