Peoplesoft GL Journal Import Question

We are on Classic Plus. No Cloud yet!

One of our users is using the new Journal Import to import into Peoplesoft GL. In general, the process works good, but periodically a user gets an error message that mentions "Check the Field Length of the Fields, Check the Decimal Positions of the Amount Fields."

Sometimes that error is legit, but sometimes not. In this case, I have pinpointed this error to a copy/paste special values from a separate spreadsheet. I know this because for a 32 line entry, for an experiment, we manually keyed over the dollar value. And then the import works. But it doesn't work with the Copy / Paste Special.
