Simple Journal Implementation questions

We are implementing Simple Journal functionality and notice that it seems to think we have project costing enabled when we do not. The project costing fields (PC Business Unit and Activity) display and we would prefer they not and the Project field is looking for a PC project and not our normal project table (this is on the Lines section Chartfields tab).

We also notice that after clicking the Process button to Edit Journal, it takes you back to the blank PTS_NUI_SEARCH page. Is this the expected behavior for Simple Journals?

With regular GL journals (using classic navigation), after clicking Process to Edit Journal it stays on the Journal Lines page until the Edit process is complete. Is it possible for Simple Journals to do this as well?
