PeopleTools Upgrade 8.60 / COBOL 7 Upgrade

Hi Team,

We were struck in middle of Tools Upgrade with some open questions related to COBOL Developer Hubs-

Currently we have a Visual COBOL Development Hub 4.0 in HCMDEMO (cbl complier license) and COBOL runtime binaries in rest of environments till HCMPRD which is regular path. 

In HCMDEV, we decided to start the upgrade of PeopleTools to 8.60 on Linux RHEL OS 8 which requires Micro Focus Visual COBOL for Linux and UNIX for PeopleSoft 7.0.0.0.0. 

To keep and test this Cobol 7 version compiler in HCMDEV with latest PeopleTools 8.60, we have some open and basic questions -

1. What are the best practices when we need to have a two different COBOL versions for certain time period like 5 months (until Upgrade Go-live)? Please share your experiences if you have done something like this in Upgrades.
