Configuration used to Create a Paymode X file using Standard Banking and AP Configuration?

We are looking to add a new Payment Method called PaymodeX, but it appears that isn't a recommended solution. I have found a similar (from 2018) request , but that is quite old and was curious if someone has successfully accomplished a Paymode X file? Perhaps using a different payment type, adding a form but then just overriding that code when sending to Paymode?
