Data Guard between 2 different versions

Hi,

I currently have an Oracle database in the 12c version. I am considering adding a standby Active Data Guard node using the Oracle 19c version. Is this possible? What are the pros and cons of such an architecture? This is intended to separate read operations from the main database and is not part of an upgrade process.
