Is there a preferred method for running a full PUM Upgrade?

When creating a full PUM package, there are two ways you can create the package:

— Standard System Search Criteria >> All Unapplied Updates for Installed Products

— All Other Search Criteria >> Prod/Severity/Image >>
— Select Installed Products
— Select Image Number for the Current Pum
— Go back and select Specific Bugs
— Select the bugs you want only

Is there a preferred method and by doing a full PUM with Selective Bugs only, am I missing anything important? We have different members on our team that do it both ways and we are looking for a standard. Thank you.
