OCI Database System with standby recently started a 'SWITCHOVER VERIFY'

Database version: 19.24 on OCI

On my OCI Database System (in Frankfurt), starting on July 26th, we see very frequent messages 'SWITCHOVER VERIFY' with all sort of rubbish coming in.

Example:

SWITCHOVER VERIFY: Send VERIFY request to switchover target ************
SWITCHOVER VERIFY WARNING: switchover target temporary files are not the same with the primary. See switchover target's alert log for details.
Data Guard Broker: Switchover processing will set LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n parameter. Continuing switchover

This was suddenly introduced, on OCI (!!) . About 500 (!!) times a day.

This makes the alert log 10times the size as before.

Questions:

  • Was this announced by Oracle somewhere/how?
