PeopleSoft interface suspense items vs. journal in error

Hi

I have 2 interfaces- ABC & XYZ

When these files were brought into PeopleSoft- errors resulted (which we understand why). What we don't understand is why each file was handled slightly different.

ABC - automatically posted the journal but created suspense items which could be seen in correct suspense & corrected through there.

XYZ- journal went to error & errors (similar to errors above- i.e. combo edits/ missing account) were found within the journal but did not create any suspense items. I was able to correct the errors within the journal itself.

What would be causing the files/ journal status to behave differently. My IT indicates it's something in JGEN delivered by Oracle
