Elim Companies

We are looking for the best practice on how companies that have multiple companies in Peoplesoft handle elimination entries as part of the consolidation process.  The specific question - Is the best practice in PeopleSoft to setup one or multiple elimination companies to handle the elimination of intercompany transactions between related companies or is there a separate process to handle the elimination of these transactions.
