3rd Party Inbound to PeopleSoft Security

USING: PeopleSoft FS/SCM 9.2 (upgrading to latest pum soon); PeopleTools 8.58 (upgrading to 8.61 soon)

What's the approach / process for having a 3rd party SECURELY invoke a service operation within PeopleSoft?

  • Do we send the 3rd party our certificates from our web server? Do we generate one for them that references our certificate authority for them to use? (I think so)
  • Do we need to configure the gateways to use HTTPs instead of HTTP? Is this just as simple as changing the port? Do we need to install additional certificates?
  • PeopleSoft now has certificates that you can load in the keystore on the web server, but also via the PIA. Are these related at all?
