Why does unbalanced journals post?

Hello,

I am investigating an issue where journals that are imported that contain a single entry line, that are then processed through GL_JEDIT, come out posted despite being unbalanced.

What are the reasons an unbalanced journal can end up being posted via GL_JEDIT?
