Posting time delays

Does anyone have any experience with an increase in posting times?

Our payroll jobs have recently increased in posting time - the jobs are successfully completed in the usual timeframe, but the "posting" process is taking significantly longer. The users frequently never even saw "posting" - they just saw "n/a" and then immediately "posted". Our IT department has indicated there's been no change to the servers, and they're not sure what they can review.

Has anyone encountered this? What did you do to diagnose (and resolve) the increased duration?
