PeopleTools 8.5x ->8.62 Upgrade: PT8.62.05_Client Path vs tools_home Path as New PS_HOME in CA

in PeopleTools and Lifecycle Management - PSFT (MOSC) Question

Hi,

During a PeopleTools upgrade from 8.5x to 8.62(tools only upgrade), when configuring the New Homes section in Change Assistant, what is the practical difference and impact of specifying one of the following two paths as the new PS_HOME?

  1. Using PeopleTools Client folder path – the full Windows People Tools client installation created from the 4th DPK file (the one installed by running SetupPTClient.bat in Update Manager mode), or
  2. Using tools_home folder path – the mid-tier server-style PS_HOME deployed using the DPK command --- psft-dpk-setup --env_type midtier --deploy_only --deploy_type tools_home

I noticed that the Change Package (the .zip file downloaded from the PeopleTools 8.62 Upgrade Home Page,
