Recommendations for COBOL for PeopleTools 8.62.x

We are currently running PeopleTools 8.61.15 with COBOL 6 in our environment. As part of our roadmap, we are planning to upgrade to PeopleTools 8.62.x (latest certified patch level).During our review of the certification matrix, we understand that PeopleTools 8.62 supports COBOL 7 and COBOL 9. Since our current environment is on COBOL 6, we would like clarification and guidance on the following points:

1. Confirmation that COBOL 6 is not certified for use with PeopleTools 8.62.

2. Recommendation on whether COBOL 9 is the preferred and supported version for long-term compatibility.

3. Whether we are required to uninstall COBOL 6 prior to installing COBOL 9, or if both versions can coexist temporarily during transition.
