Purge Notifications (Notification Composer)

We have Base as HCM and our portal provides access to HCM, FIN and CS. As of now, when Purge Notifications process (PeopleTools —> Notifications —> Purge Notifications) is run in HCM, it only purges in the base (HCM). There seems to be no IB based messages that simultaneously deletes HCM related messages in the Portal.

So, if PTPN_AYSNC_PUBLISH is configured to send messages from HCM to Portal, delete only works, when deleted manually. If the App Engine process - Purge Notifications is run, the IB is not triggered. Is this a missing functionality?

Is this by design? Has anyone else encountered such issues?
