Can the cursor and tab order of a search page be changed when using the Configurable Search page?

We have changed the search page field order for Review Paycheck so the EMPLID is now at the top of the page. However, when the page is loaded the cursor focus is still on Company. Also the tab order continues from the Company as well.

Is there a way to change this without a modification?
