Implemented RMA AME with Oracle R12.2.9 how to configure Timeout

in Core Workflow - EBS (MOSC)

We have implemented AME for Oracle EBS R12.2.9 SCM RMA Transaction type, how can we implement/configure Timeout with AME. Timeout needs to be setup with AME or Workflow. We did set it up with Workflow the child process's approval notification gets cancelled post timeout, seems it's unable to determine where to go/whom to pick up next in hierarchy.
