Is anyone using/familiar with standalone nVision batch processing?

One of our users has discovered a method to run batch processing (queing them up and having them process sequential) in standalone nVision (so, not through the PIA/process scheduler). They are sometimes experiencing issues, and no one on the team seems to have the depth of experience/knowledge in this functionalty. To be honest, I didn't even know it was possible until a couple of weeks ago. There seems to be a dearth of knowledge on the interwebs, and even at MOS about this functionality, and I was hoping someone here might have some hints/pathways to documentation.
