Does anyone have any anti-virus scanning exceptions recommendations for servers running PeopleTools

Our organization has mandated a new policy to install anti-virus software across our new Linux server infrastructure. We are currently configuring AV on the tiers that host our Application Servers, Process Schedulers, and Webservers (Oracle/PeopleSoft 8.6x stack).

Oracle Support has not been very helpful in providing specific exclusion lists for a Linux environment, and we want to prevent performance degradation, file-locking issues, and application crashes caused by aggressive real-time scanning.

Could anyone share their proven AV exception lists or best practices? We are looking for recommendations across these specific areas:

1. Application Server & Process Scheduler Tiers

  • Installation Directories: Should we exclude the entire middleware home (e.g., $ORACLE_HOME, $PS_HOME, $PS_APP_HOME)?

Howdy, Stranger!
