PeopleSoft Landing Page-Announcements Section

We are able to view Banner Announcements (using Publish Notifications, using Banner Announcements category)

Peoplebook says Notifications that are based on Event-Based, will show Event Based Notification Composer notifications, (and configured to be displayed in Announcements section of the homepage) will be displayed in the section

However, Publish Notifications has an option to use Announcements Category and delivery method as Announcements (as per Peoplebooks). When we tried to see if we can publish adhoc/on-demand notifications in Announcements section, it does not work - they way Banner Announcements work.

Can someone help here if adhoc notifications cannot be displayed in Announcements section?
