Scenario: There are instances when users need to create a report or saved search to show any transactions that affect the average cost of an item.
Solution: NetSuite has a standard report, Inventory Valuation Detail Report, which shows the transactions affecting the value of the inventory. This lists transactions that affect inventory assets and may be useful for troubleshooting costing problems. To generate this report, navigate to Reports > Inventory/Items > Inventory Valuation > Detail.
Another option would be to create a Saved Search to show the affecting transactions. Let's say, for example, users need to identify those transactions which have 0 value and causes the average cost of the items to be incorrect. To do this,
- Navigate to Reports > Saved Searches > All Saved Searches > New
- Click Transaction
- Search Title: Enter Title
- Click Criteria
- Click Standard
Filter:
Note: Always click Add once Filter is selected and adjusted.
Description: Select Assembly Build, Assembly Unbuild, Credit Memo, Inventory Adjustment, Inventory Worksheet, Item Fulfillment, Item Receipt
Note: You may add or remove transaction type as necessary.
