How to reclassify items that were originally Non inventory for purchase to Non inventory for resale

Hi all ! We made the mistake of selecting non inventory items for purchase when we really needed non inventory items for resale. We can fix the issue moving forward but we still have atleast 3 months of transactions that is tied to the original item type. Is there any way to edit this and if not what are some alternatives that can help reflect the change we want ?
