NSC | Lot Number Without An Expiration Date
Scenario
User is getting an error: "Existing lots for this item do not have an expiry date. Add expiry date to the lots and try again." when trying to edit an item.
Cause
The error occurs because some lot numbers linked to the item lack expiry dates, even if inactive, due to historical transactions in NetSuite.
Solution
To identify the lot number causing the error, we performed the following steps:
- Navigate to Lists > Search > Saved Searches > New
- Select Item
- Under Criteria:
– Expiration Date is empty (or null) to filter lots without expiry dates. Optionally, filter by Item if you know the specific item causing the error for targeted searches.
