NSC | Recalculate Estimated Gross Profit Does Not Work on Changes in Item Receipts
Scenario:
A user notices that even after updating the Item Receipt, the Estimated Gross Profit on their Sales Order or Invoice does not get recalculated as expected. They want to understand why the cost update isn't reflected in the gross profit calculation.
Solution:
Updating the Item Receipt does not retroactively update the estimated cost used in existing Sales Orders or related transactions, and therefore does not trigger a recalculation of Estimated Gross Profit. Here's why:
- Item Receipt Does Not Link to Sales Orders
- While the Item Receipt and Sales Order may reference the same items and Purchase Orders, NetSuite does not treat the Item Receipt as a directly linked transaction
