NSC | Error: Inventory revaluation is no longer the first transaction in the in the item's history

edited Aug 6, 2025 12:54AM in Accounting / ERP

Scenario

User identified a location that is not included in the standard cost version, where they encounter an error during inventory revaluation: "Inventory revaluation is no longer the first transaction in the item's history."

Cause

A Standard Cost Version defines the set of standard costs for items used in inventory valuation, tied to specific locations. Once a standard cost version is used in a Planned Standard Cost or a Planned Standard Cost Rollup, its associated locations cannot be modified. Since the location is not part of the standard cost version, attempting to revalue inventory for this location triggers the error. To resolve this, you need to create a new standard cost version that includes the new location and follow through with rollup and revaluation processes.
