NSC | Auto-Generated Numbers > Document Numbers > Allow Override > Journals
Scenario:
The user noticed that there are several journals which has the same document numbers.
Duplicate Journal Entry numbers can occur if two users create entries simultaneously and don’t change the pre-filled number. To replicate:
- Open two Journal Entry forms (e.g., right-click twice from Transactions > Financial > Make Journal Entries)
- Both forms will have the same Entry No. (e.g., JOURNAL-001)
- Fill out both forms
- Save the first – it will save as JOURNAL-001
- Save the second – a Duplicate Number warning appears
- Clicking Leave allows saving with the same number (not recommended)
To check if manual override of Journal Entry numbers is enabled
