NSC | Post a Journal in a Closed Period
Scenario:
User A wants to approve a Journal Entry dated within a closed accounting period (January 2024). However, the system only allows approval and posting in the current period, which is May 2025.
Solution:
- Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Manage Accounting Periods
- Locate January 2024 and click the magnifying glass icon under the Checklist column
- Click the green Close icon under the Task column
- On the Close Accounting Period page, enter the required Justification
- Click Reopen Period
- Open the Journal Entry and update the Posting Period to January 2024.
Note: Proceed with caution and consult with the Accounting team before making changes to a closed period.
