NSC | Post a Journal in a Closed Period

edited Aug 13, 2025 11:53AM in Accounting / ERP

Scenario:
User A wants to approve a Journal Entry dated within a closed accounting period (January 2024). However, the system only allows approval and posting in the current period, which is May 2025.

Solution:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Manage Accounting Periods
  2. Locate January 2024 and click the magnifying glass icon under the Checklist column
  3. Click the green Close icon under the Task column
  4. On the Close Accounting Period page, enter the required Justification
  5. Click Reopen Period
  6. Open the Journal Entry and update the Posting Period to January 2024.

Note: Proceed with caution and consult with the Accounting team before making changes to a closed period.

Howdy, Stranger!
