When attempting to create new assets using the Asset Proposal feature in NetSuite, the user may encounter the following error message while navigating to Fixed Assets > Transactions > Manage Asset Proposal:
“{"type":"error.SuiteScriptError","name":"RCRD_DSNT_EXIST","message":"That record does not exist……..”
This error typically occurs when the Fixed Asset System Setup page has not been fully configured, specifically the reporting folder internal ID. To resolve this issue, the user must complete the system setup by specifying the appropriate folder for reporting purposes. The system is unable to locate a required folder for storing or accessing asset reporting files. This is because the Folder to Use for Reporting (Internal ID) field on the System Setup page is either empty or incorrectly configured. As a result, NetSuite cannot execute the reporting logic embedded in the Asset Proposal process.
To resolve the error and proceed with asset proposals, follow the steps below to complete the Fixed Asset System Setup:
Step 1: Locate the Reporting Folder Internal ID
- Go to Documents > Files > File Cabinet.
- Navigate to the following directory: SuiteBundles.
- Locate the folder named use the latest bundle number for Fixed Asset Management SuiteApp and identify the folder named src within it.
- Copy the Internal ID of the src folder.
Take note that if the Internal ID is not visible, the user must enable the “Show Internal ID” preference:Navigate to Home > Set Preferences, go to the General tab, and check Show Internal IDs.
Step 2: Update the System Setup with the Internal ID
- Navigate to Fixed Assets > Setup > System Setup.
- Click on the Reports tab.
- In the field labeled Folder to Use for Reporting (Internal ID), paste the Internal ID
- Click Submit to save the changes.
