To resolve this error, the user needs to review the configuration of the invoice form being used and determine whether the Project field is set as a mandatory field. This setting can be adjusted if it is not applicable for the specific type of transaction being generated through asset disposal.
To verify whether the Project field is set as mandatory on the preferred invoice form, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Transactions > Sales > Create Invoices.This path opens the invoice entry screen where the default or preferred invoice form is used.
- On the invoice form, go to the Items tab.This tab contains the line-item details of the invoice, including fields such as item, quantity, rate, and project-related information.
- Look for the Project field on this tab.
Mandatory fields are visually marked with an asterisk (*) next to the label. If the Project field has an asterisk, it is currently required and must be filled before the transaction can be saved.
If the Project field is not relevant for the asset disposal via sale, the user may choose one of the following approaches:
- Option A: Modify the FormAn administrator can customize the invoice form and remove the mandatory setting from the Project field. This ensures that asset disposals using this form will no longer require project data unless explicitly added.
- Option B: Use an Alternate Invoice FormThe user may select or create another invoice form where the Project field is optional rather than required. This form can then be designated for use in asset disposal transactions.
