New to NetSuite | Reset Journal Entry Document Number Sequence

Scenario:

Two users entered journal entries at the same time, which caused a disruption in the journal entry number sequence. They would now like to reset the numbering to follow the original sequence.

Solution:

Important: Ensure that no one creates new journal entries until all the steps below are completed.

I. Review Journal Auto-Generated Numbers

  1. Go to Auto-Generated Numbers page.

    • NetSuite: Navigate to Setup > Company > Auto-Generated Numbers.
    • NetSuite Next: Open Explore (hamburger icon on the bottom left corner beside the Home button). In the menu, go to Setup > Company >Auto-Generated numbers.

  2. Click the Document Numbers tab.
