Scenario

User wants to uncheck the "INCLUDE IN SUPPLY PLANNING" checkbox for a specific location in NetSuite because you do not want the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to calculate supply for that location. However, the checkbox is disabled (greyed out), preventing you from unchecking it.

This issue occurs when certain conditions in NetSuite are not met, locking the checkbox to enforce supply planning logic. You need guidance on why this happens and how to enable the checkbox so it can be unchecked.

Solution

The "INCLUDE IN SUPPLY PLANNING" checkbox is disabled because the location is still tied to supply planning configurations in NetSuite. To enable the checkbox and uncheck it, you must ensure the following conditions are met:

1. No Existing Item Supply Plans for the Location:
   • Navigate to the Item Supply Plans in NetSuite (e.g., under Planning > Supply Planning > Item Supply Plans).
   • Search for any plans associated with the location.
   • If plans exist, either delete them or edit them to exclude the location.
2. No Running MRP Process for a Supply Plan Definition Including the Location:
   • Check if an MRP process is currently running that includes the location (e.g., under Planning > Supply Planning > MRP).
   • If an MRP process is active, wait for it to complete or cancel it, depending on your permissions and business needs.
3. The Location Is Not Included in Any Supply Plan Definition:
   • Go to the Supply Plan Definitions (e.g., Planning > Supply Planning > Supply Plan Definitions).
   • Review each definition and remove the location from any that include it.
4. The Location Is Not Included in Any Planning Rule Group:
   • Access the Planning Rule Groups (e.g., Planning > Supply Planning > Planning Rule Groups).
   • Check all groups, such as the "Door Depot Planning Rule Group" if applicable, and remove the location from any groups where it is listed.

Steps to Uncheck the Checkbox:

• After ensuring all the above conditions are met:
  1. Open the location record in NetSuite (e.g., Setup > Company > Locations).
  2. Refresh the page or reload the record.
  3. Verify that the "INCLUDE IN SUPPLY PLANNING" checkbox is now editable.
  4. Uncheck the checkbox and save the record.

Example Case:

For instance, if the location is "New York" and it’s included in the "NYC Depot Planning Rule Group," you must:

• Edit the "NYC Depot Planning Rule Group."
• Remove "New York" from the group.
• Refresh the location record, and the checkbox should become editable.

By following these steps, the "INCLUDE IN SUPPLY PLANNING" checkbox should become editable, allowing you to uncheck it and exclude the location from MRP calculations.
