Scenario
As an administrator in NetSuite, you are attempting to create a Work Order Completion. However, when you try to save it, you receive the following error message:
- "Permission Violation: You need the 'Transactions -> Work Order Completion' permission to access this page."
This error is unexpected since the Admin role typically grants extensive permissions. In this case, however, the Admin role lacks the specific 'Transactions -> Work Order Completion' permission required to complete this action.
Solution
To fix this issue, you must add the 'Work Order Completion' permission to the NetSuite Connector Web Services role, a custom role often used for web services integration. Follow these steps:
- Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.
- In the top navigation bar, click Setup, then select Users/Roles, and click Manage Roles.
- Locate and edit the NetSuite Connector Web Services role.
- Scroll through the list of roles or use the search feature to find the NetSuite Connector Web Services role. Click its name to edit it.
- Access the Permissions tab.
- In the Transactions subtab, locate the drop-down arrow.
- Scroll to the bottom of the permissions list in the Transactions subtab and click the drop-down arrow to view additional options.
- Add the 'Work Order Completion' permission.
- From the drop-down list, select Work Order Completion.
- Set the permission level to 'Full'.
- Choose Full from the level options to grant complete access to Work Order Completion actions.
- Click 'Add'.
- This adds the permission to the role.
- Save the changes.
- Click Save to update the role with the new permission.
- Log out and log back in.
- Log out of NetSuite completely, then log back in to ensure the updated permissions take effect.
After completing these steps, you should be able to create and save a Work Order Completion without encountering the permission violation error.
