Scenario:
User is unable to disable Do Not Update COGS and Asset Accounts on Existing Transactions preference.
Solution:
This is a Standard Behavior in our NetSuite Account that once the preference "Do Not Update COGS and Asset Accounts on Existing Transactions When Accounts Are Changed" is already enabled (checked), we can no longer disable it.
And for newly provisioned accounts, this feature is automatically enabled. Disabling this is a known system limitation and is currently logged under enhancement #671939 - Ability to Disable Do Not Update COGS and Asset Accounts on Existing Transactions preference.
As workaround, users can perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences > Items/Transactions tab > Accounts Section > DO NOT UPDATE COGS AND ASSET ACCOUNTS ON EXISTING TRANSACTIONS WHEN ACCOUNTS ARE CHANGED
- Open Console F12 and type the following or copy paste:
- nlapiSetFieldValue('NO_UPDATE_TRANSACTION_COGSASSETACCT', 0);
- Press Enter
- The check on the field should be removed and the user can save the Accounting preference page
- Repeat step 1 to verify the preference is unchecked
