Scenario
User is attempting to make a copy of a Manufacturing Routing via Edit Routing, but the Manufacturing Name field cannot be edited. This issue was observed even after investigating the form settings. Initially, it was confirmed under Customization > Forms > Entry Forms that a custom form was being used for Manufacturing Routing. To troubleshoot, the default form was switched to the standard form, but the problem persisted—users still could not edit the Manufacturing Name when making a copy.
Solution
To resolve this issue and enable editing of the Manufacturing Routing Name field when copying a Manufacturing Routing in Netsuite, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Customization > Forms > Entry Forms.
- Locate the custom form currently in use for Manufacturing Routing.
- Open the custom form in edit mode.
- In the form definition, find the Manufacturing Routing Name field.
- Ensure the field is configured with the "Show" option checked and is not set to "Disabled".
- Save the changes to the custom form.
- Return to the Manufacturing Routing record, make a copy, and verify that the Manufacturing Name field can now be edited.
This solution addresses the issue when using the custom form. Note that if the original Routing record was created with the custom form, Netsuite will use that same form for the copy, regardless of the default form setting. Therefore, adjusting the custom form’s field settings is key to enabling edits. If the issue also occurs with the standard form, repeat the process to check and adjust the Manufacturing Routing Name field settings in the standard form, or consult Netsuite support for additional guidance.
