NSC | Retaining Original Item Pricing After Selecting a Substitute Item on Sales Orders
Scenario:
The user was utilizing the Item Substitute functionality from the SCM Bundle and wanted to retain the original item pricing on a Sales Order after selecting a substitute item. The requirement was related to a relabeling process where a generic substitute item would be used across multiple original items while preserving the original pricing.
Solution:
Native NetSuite functionality does not currently support retaining the original item price automatically when a substitute item is selected.
By default:
- The substitute item will use its own pricing setup based on the selected price level.
- The only native workaround is to ensure both the original item and substitute item have identical pricing configured for the applicable price levels.
