NSC | Applying Per-Piece Flat Rate Discounts on Sales Orders

Scenario:
The user needed to apply a flat-rate discount per quantity sold on a Sales Order or Invoice. When using a standard Discount Item inside an Item Group, the discount was only applied once per group instead of multiplying by the quantity sold, resulting in incorrect total discount calculations.

Solution:
Currently, NetSuite standard Discount Items do not support quantity-based flat-rate discounts within Item Groups.

As a workaround, a Non-Inventory Item for Sale can be created and used as a custom discount item because non-inventory items support quantities on transaction lines.
