NSC | Restricting Quote-Only Items from Sales Orders
Scenario:
The user needs a generic placeholder item—such as “TBD Customized Item”—to support quote negotiations for customized-logo products. The item should be available on Quotes but should not appear as an option when users create Sales Orders.
Solution:
NetSuite does not provide a standard item setting to make an item available exclusively on Quotes while preventing its use on Sales Orders. However, this can be handled through a custom item field, an Item saved search, and a custom Sales Order form.
- Create the generic placeholder item, such as TBD Customized Item.
- Create a custom item checkbox field, for example:
