Description
Currently its appears that we cannot Calling a specific OAC project / visualization from an external application along with passing in a specific filter values in the URL.
This would be very useful when drilling to detail like a transaction reporting from another system or just moving into the reporting tool from another application.
Use Case and Business Need
Ability to link to DV reports and arrive with the appropriate context in focus. Makes the ability to link to other applications usable and improves the existing functionality.
Example: Drill to transaction reports

IMHO, all steps toward integration with other apps are helpful.

This would be a great improvement - right now we are embedding some DV projects in a custom JET application, but the inability to pass in filter values to the DV embedding functions makes it less useful.

This would be an ideal functionality to have so users can access specific data and reports in OACS from the application screen they are on, giving them a seamless experience. It would prevent having them to login to OACS seperately, navigate to the required report and then set the filters to get to the data.

Great idea! The ability for OACS to accept "values" as a filter would be powerful when linking ERP and other third party applications.

Linking ERP applications to call OACS with the context filter from the ERP application.

It is possible today, but a bit more complex compared to the basic embedding. It requires using the Project JSON and modifying it in the code to reflect the values that you would like to have.

This is HUGE for us. We are actually considering abandoning OAC for another platform because of this limitation. I wish I could put all my votes on this one.

We are using Sales Could for our sales and account management in our utility. One of the most important tasks our Account Managers do for our customers is provide a report of their billing history for all the different billing accounts for a particular customer (in some cases there could be hundreds). We use OAC for the bill history report since the transactional data comes from a different on prem application. Account Managers spend most of their time in Sales Cloud, so having a link to retrieve the billing history report from the Account object, or Billing Profile (Custom object) object, in Sales Cloud is very important. This is a huge obstacle to the adoption of the Sales Cloud tool in our organization. Currently account managers have to copy the billing profile numbers, log into OAC, navigate to the screen to paste the information in. It takes about 5-10 minutes to complete where it took seconds in our former application. For the number of times they do this daily, the 5 minutes adds up and is deemed as regressing rather than progressing in system capabilities. We have unhappy customers over here. Please help!
