Description
Users of data vizualisation must come to the service and click around to find insights. Within this tool, there is no way for an admin nor for individual users to push reports out via email, slack, teams, etc.... So, we expect users to wander into the service and stumble across the right information.
Ideally individual business users can set up business alerts (e.g. profit margin for one state for the dynamic last 7 days falls below 40%) then they schedule how often it is run (e.g. nightly) then they choose what the alert should be. (e.g. a text statement and / or a link to an existing DV Project) then they choose which delivery channels to deliver this to (e.g. email, Slack, Teams, SMS)
Admins should be able to set this up on behalf of other users and for groups. Admins might also be able to control a window of when all these alert jobs are allowed to run if they are tons of workloads. (e.g. they can only run 5 am which is after the batch until 8 am which is before workers get going) Oracle might want to look into leveraging the OCI email service.
Use Case and Business Need
Right now, analytics is reactive and waiting for users to ask the question. Ideally it is pro-active where key problems are actively monitored and once they fall out of line, the right people are informed. Important decisions are not made because business people are unaware a problem exists. Even if they wander into OAC once a week, chances are they are just looking at some high level dashboards rather than actively searching for particular problems.
More details
A huge percentage of customers ask how DV can email out "exception reports" and we don't really have an answer to this with DV. We can point to our older Answers interface but ideally that replaced with easy to use business self-serve
