REST or SOAP Services to automate AOC Data Replication

Organization Name
Landsbond der Christelijke Mutualiteiten
Description
AOC Data Replication is being used to replicate data from eg ERP Cloud; by it can only be scheduled at a minimum interval of an hour.
We would need to be able to start this integration on an ad hoc basis via REST or SOAP Services.
As AOC Data Replication is using BICC from ERP Cloud; similar services as described in this blog would be required:

Use Case and Business Need
We have an inbound integration to ERP Cloud; and one of the steps in the integration flow is that we need to first put AP Invoices on Hold. After these have been put on hold we need to get the current state of these Invoices in the PaaS DB as this status will determine the business logic in the integration.
Now we need to place a Wait step in the integration flow that could potentially mean that we need to for an hour in order to be able to proceed with the processing of the data. As our target would be to process a "normal" file in one hour, this is putting a dead lock on our overall performance.
