Tuning parameter to limit OBIEE SQL text
Organization Name
Sage Intacct
Description
We are currently using OBIEE 12.2.1.4 and planning to upgrade to OAS soon.
We allow users to have ability to create their own reports, however sometimes, users makes silly mistakes, and may accidentally generate a huge OBIEE SQL.
The request is to have a tuning parameter to limit OBIEE SQL Text, such that if the generated OBIEE SQL text is huge ( say more than 2MB ), it should be prevented for further OBIEE processing and be prevented to run against the Datasource .
Use Case and Business Need
We recently had an issue wherein an end-user came up with a report that generated a massive OBIEE SQL ( 20 pages long), this caused
the underlying host to hang and become non-responsive, causing so many users to be unable to use the system.
To mitigate the issue, we were forced to kill the sawserver process.
We logged oracle support ticket for this, but there were not able to help us.
