(for version 6.4) Consider showing version number on the Help> About pop-up dialog, they way it used to be in version 6.3. Currently, we need to hover the title to get to see "6.4", which might be considered a little unfriendly.

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

We would like to have version number show-up on the "Help>About" pop-up dialog. As opposed to be hidden in a tooltip

Is anybody from development looking at this Idea ? There is no response and it would be good if somebody ket us know, how to check (from UI) the current version of OAS environment - since in 6.4 the information has disappeared.

i use OAC, (not OAS!) so the following might not apply to you.

”workaround” for oac: go to the “help about” dialog on the home page, where tge version # used to show up; HOVER the title with a mouse until a hint appears!! The hint will contain the version #. (Sigh!)

i am actually away on vacation, these days. I am repeating just what I remember. Upon return i can provide better instructions and screenshots . Sorry if the above is vague.

P.S.: for what is worth, for now one could say : “if you cannot find the version#, THEN you are on 6.4. Just a sad joke; forget it…

I can confirm this also applies for OAS 6.4

I had to search support.oracle.com (Doc ID 2754946.1) to find how to get the version number. In the doc, it is mentioned as an "easier" way to find the version....interesting :-|

Please add the version back to the "About" screen, for I believe it is often the only reason many users are opening this screen.
