Description (Required):

Currently, there are some configuration settings in Fusion Middleware Control (EM) console:

biinstance ==> configuration

These configuration relate to the OBI Server (NQSConfig.INI) and Presentation Server (instanceconfig.xml), it would be nice to move the configuration settings not already there to the Analytics Console (OAS only switch) ==> System Settings to consolidate the UI for less reliance on Enterprise Manager (very slow).

These apply to OAS only, not OAC, so might need some additional work to separate.

Of course with OAS, one can configure the files directly, this is also necessary. This request is only for the UI portion.

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

Enterprise Manager is a slow and dated UI for customers to navigate. Reducing the usage and reliance upon it is an experience improvement.

Really good idea. Currently (I mean OAS, not OAC) maintenance of settings of different "components" of OAS suite is spread across several "locations" :

• Analytics Console (System Settings) - obvious place, since OAS is "following" OAC and in OAC this is the only place where Admins can make config changes (they don't have access to OS neither to EM console)
• OS config files - there are still settings for particular OAS components (BI Server, BI Presentation Service, BI Scheduler) which can be set/maintained in particular config file on Operating System (machine, where OAS is running). Some setting maintained in past in OS config files has been already superseded by settings in System Settings of Analytics Console
• FMW/EM Console - still (as mentioned by @SteveF-Oracle ) some settings (some thresholds for "classical" part - Answers/Dashboards/Delivers) are maintained here

So it would be fine to know from Product Development, what is future strategy for OAS in that sense ? Will this be unified and the only "place" for all settings will move to Analytics Console (System Settings) or will this be still the same situation ? I think, at least settings from EM console should be moved to Analytics Console, since OS config file are still playing crucial role in maintenance/administration of OAS instances.
