I am building PDF reports using Oracle Reports => XML => PDF (via MSWord RTF).

I have a business requirement to display a text field some of which I want to be BOLD and/or italicized.  I would prefer to store the text source in FND_NEW_MESSAGES with embedded escape characters rather than hard coding the text into my RTF and let the OPP generate the appropriate PDF file.

Can someone please give me an example of how this might be done.
