Barcode seems to print carriage return after it on all PDF documents generated from BI Publisher

We are in the process of upgrading our Oracle Apps instance to 12C and in testing our BI Publisher reports - everything seems to work OK except for bar codes.  The bar codes still print and are readable, but they all seem to have shifted on all the documents that get generated into PDFs via BI Publisher.  We confirmed that the templates are exactly the same between the pre-12C and 12C instances - but the bar code seems to have shifted up on the output everywhere there is one printed.

We have looked at the generated XML and that still looks OK - no extra characters seen there - but it looks like an extra return character is printed after the bar code which bumps it up.

Font we are using for the barcode is "Free 3 of 9 Extended"
